Are your window well covers broken? Why do you need to invest in a better well?

Broken Window Well?

We all are looking for the same things as homeowners and caretakers of our property. We are looking for easy, efficient, and nearly permanent solutions to problems that we have around the house. No one in my acquaintance has said, “Oh boy!  I can’t wait to shop for window well covers.”  But it’s wonderful to have the problem solved.

Even small window wells can lead to big problems without the right covers. There are small annoyances like dirt, debris, and weeds—bigger problems like animals and snow and water issues. Many of our bubble window well covers can ship within 3-5 business days. So when the heavy spring rains come, you are prepared, and you will be much less likely to have the snow in your wells melting and seeping in around your basement windows.

What is your view from inside?

If you see snow in your well that means that you won’t be able to get out in case of emergency.  Snow in your window well will prevent many windows from opening in emergency situations.  Your emergency exit routes need to be kept as clear as your sidewalks.  A sturdy window well cover will keep the snow and ice out of your wells and keep your egress clear.  If your wells are deeper than three feet from gravel to lip, or you have children in your home, consider getting an easy to install the galvanized ladder.  For a metal well, it simply hooks on the lip and only needs two screws at the bottom to hold the ladder in place.  You have peace of mind, and another thing scratched off the never-ending “To Do” list.
