Do you have something covering your window well? Unfortunately, window wells can be dangerous when they don’t have a cover. Small children and pets might accidentally find their way at the bottom of the window well. To avoid injuries, make sure you have something sturdy and virtually unbreakable on top!
Keeping a window well open also invites debris to accumulate and clog the well’s drain. This can cause the water to back up in the well, leak through your window, and cause damage to your home. No one don’t wants that! Having a cover over the window well keeps unwanted debris out!
We have plenty of options when it comes to window well covers. Take a look and see which solution works best for you.
Polycarbonate Window Well Covers
Polycarbonate window well covers are crystal clear! We use the material polycarbonate because of the durability, unlike the easily breakable plastic you find at the hardware store. The strength of these clear covers is incredible. They hold up to 400 pounds and are made to have a long life. We are very proud to say that these covers are made in the USA.
Something you may be wondering is, how do the covers stand up to the harsh rays of the sun? On the covers, there is a UV film to protect it from turning that ugly yellowish color. Your window well cover will stay crystal clear!
Getting as much natural light as you can in your basement is important! The great thing about these covers is that they let the gorgeous sunshine through seamlessly.
No matter what your house’s style is, we have the perfect window well cover to match it! They are made to fit your window well’s exact dimensions.
Sloped Window Well Cover
We designed the Sloped style cover to keep water moving downward to keep water moving away from your home. This also helps dirt and debris to rinse off the cover away from your window well and your foundation wall. The sloped design sheds water and dirt off the cover.
Atrium Window Well Covers
Looking for a different type of cover? One that will cover the window completely? That’s where the Atrium cover comes in. Many people love the style of this cover and purchase it for that reason! These are perfect if you have a casement or crank-out window, as the Atrium will allow the window to open out into the well completely. The atrium is made of the same strong polycarbonate as our Sloped and Flat covers.
Bubble Window Well Covers
Some basement windows extend above the window well. No problem – for smaller metal window wells we have a Bubble Cover that will take care of that for you. Simple installation and no assembly required. These covers are virtually unbreakable, and won’t break in the cold.
Window Well Grates
Window well grates are another popular option. These grates allow for fresh air to reach your basement. Depending on size, we make them from powder coated steel or rust-free aluminum. These also hold up to 400 pounds making it durable and sturdy! No matter what the dimensions are of your window well, we customize them to fit your well beautifully.
The safety of you and your family is extremely important to us. The grates are also lightweight and easy to remove in the case of an emergency.
Are you picky when it comes to the color? If so, the window well grate will be great for you. We can customize the color with powder-coating in black or gray, or in a multitude of custom colors.
If you don’t like the fact that the window well grate is open to the elements, we will be glad to make a clear top cover for the grate. They fit right over our grates and protect them from weather and debris. They are made out of the same material the window well covers are made out of, making them incredibly strong!
