Load capacity depends on the cover style you choose. Our aluminum grates and custom steel grates carry the highest loads for walk-on applications and heavy snow load areas. Sloped, Flat and Super Slant covers also support a 400 pound weightload, but also help to keep water out of your window well.
UV-Treated
Our clear covers resist yellowing, splitting, and clouding after years of sun exposure.
Egress-Compliant Options

Yes. Odd shapes, oversized wells, and wells with architectural details, vents or utilities around them are all common custom builds for us. Send photos of the well along with length, width, and projection measurements, and our team will design a cover that follows the shape of your well.
Capacity depends on which cover style you choose. Clear plastic window well covers like our atrium dome will support 150 pounds. The Sloped, Flat and super slant styles are built to support up to 400 pounds, evenly distributed. Aluminum and steel grate covers also support up to 400 pounds, evenly distributed and are rated for walk-on use. Our team will match the right style to how your well cover needs to perform.
Yes. Many egress sized covers are light enough to meet codes without special accessories, however, we build egress-compliant custom covers with hinges, prop-up bars, and escape hatches that allow emergency exit from the inside of larger wells without special tools or knowledge. Check the code reference for your area on our state egress codes page or your local building inspector, if needed, before you order.
